On behalf of the Korean Venture Business Association, it is my pleasure to welcome you as a co-host of the Second Canada-Korea Startup Venture Forum 2016 in Toronto, Canada.
I would like to thank all of you for participating in this Forum, including Canadian government officials, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, technology industry leaders and professionals.
We now have over 30,000 new start-up ventures that are playing a leading role in Korea’s Creative Economy and creating valuable knowledge-based jobs. Attracting much greater attention on startup ventures, I expect more promising startup ventures will be created through Korean government’s “Economic Innovation Plan” programs.
We will be presenting promising Korean startup ventures to Canadian venture capitalists and technology industry leaders in Toronto. This will be an opportunity to affirm their marketability beyond Korea and find new opportunities to grow abroad.
I hope that both Korean and Canadian startup companies will be able to venture out to the global market through this kind of collaboration and I hope this Forum will serve as a catalyst for cooperation between Canada and Korea in the many years to come.
I am certain that we can continue this collaboration between Korea and Canada and look forward to seeing you in Korea in the near future.
